Jock McGinty
Jock McGinty is Head of Psychology and Head of Sixth Form at Watford Grammar School for Boys and has taught psychology for over 15 years.
 
He has delivered CPD both nationally and internationally, holds an MSc in the teaching of psychology, is a senior A-level examiner and has recently ventured into writing psychology textbooks. He enjoys riding his bike, skiing and watching sport.

Mairi is Head of Psychology and Computing Science at Clifton Hall School in Edinburgh, having recently moved back to Scotland.  She has taught A level Psychology for 8 years, whilst teaching in Cheshire and is now in her third year of teaching the Scottish Higher qualification.  She is also qualified to teach ICT and Computing Science and has taught these for 18 years, and loves the links and relationship between the three subjects.

 

Mairi has completed a Masters in Education and has been Head of Faculty and an Associate Assistant Headteacher and is an active member of the ATPS.

Laura teaches Psychology A level at a 6th form College in Greater Manchester.  She has taught Psychology for 11 years. 
 
On a personal note, Laura likes to spend time with her husband and young son as well as friends. She enjoys walking and helping out at the allotment which she shares with her mum.

Deb Gajic is the ATP Treasurer. She was formerly Head of Psychology at The Polesworth School, teaching for over 20 years. She has a MSC in Psychology. 
 
Deb is a Chartered Psychologist and AFBPsS.  She now works as an independent educational consultant, as a tutor, examiner, CPD trainer and author.

Past-Chair
Helene has taught Psychology for 20+ years starting in the days when we did 5 pieces of coursework as part of the A level, consequently she has seen many changes to the A level specifications. Before this she had many years’ experience as PE teacher in an inner city secondary school in the south of England.  She has now retired to Cornwall, but was Head of a very large Department at the Chetwynd Centre in Stafford and ran the Staffordshire Psychology Teachers Network.

Helen Kitching
Conference
Helen Kitching is a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.  She is Vice Chair Teaching of the Division of Academics, Researchers and Teachers in Psychology (DART-P) for the BPS, and Chair of the Standing Committee for Pre-tertiary Education. She is an author plus Head of Psychology and Mental Health Lead at a school in East Sussex.  She has organised the ATP Conference for the past 7 years and also presents CPD on a wide range of topics from research methods to mental health.

Katherine teaches A Level Psychology and Level 3 Criminology at Wilberforce Sixth Form College in Hull. She has been teaching Psychology since 2012 and is now a TLA coach. For the past 3 years she has organised successful TeachMeets which have been attended by teachers from many different schools and colleges. When she is not teaching, Katherine spends time with her family and friends, and plays roller derby.

Morag Williamson

Morag Williamson is a long-standing ATP committee member, and represents ATP Scotland at the European Federation of Psychology Teachers’ Associations (EFPTA), where she is also Secretary of the Board.
 
Having taught psychology in schools and colleges in Scotland and England for more years than she cares to remember, she is passionate about promoting psychology education as part of the core curriculum for all young people.

Sam Shaw is Head of Psychology A level at Shiplake College, an independent boarding school in Henley-on-Thames.  He has been a Head of Year and Acting Head of Sixth-Form.  His interests are in applying psychology to studying techniques, such as meta-cognition in education, and implementing these into post-16 education, both in terms of studying and in daily life.
 
In his spare time he enjoys tailoring, P.G Wodehouse and tennis. He's probably the one in the suit at conference.

Helen Gibb is currently Head of Psychology and Sociology at The Bland ford School in Dorset. She is also a member of the sixth form management team in her role as Achievement and Attainment Co-ordinator. The school environment is relatively new to Helen as most of her 23 years in education have been spent teaching psychology in the college sector.

Aletia Hagedorn
Aletia is Subject Leader of Psychology and Gifted and Talented Coordinator at a school in Sussex. She is passionate about flipped learning, cultivating an active classroom and equipping learners with independence and skills for the world beyond. Aletia is currently completing a Master’s in Education, exploring issues such as Teacher Stress and evaluating the identification of giftedness. Her interests are in applying research to the Psychology classroom and encouraging a supportive culture in schools for new teachers.

Harriet Ennis
NSLC

Harriet Ennis has been Head of Psychology for over 15 years at Bootham School in York. Her school is a Quaker Co-ed Independent School where she also teaches Biology and is a lead teacher for the 'stretch & challenge' of 'able & interested' students.

Harriet is active in CPD provision and is a Chartered Associate member of the BPS DARTP.  In 2018 she was given an award for public engagement in Psychology by the North East branch of the BPS DARTP.

Amy Halsall
Amy is a Science and Psychology teacher at a high school in South Ribble. An active member of the Preston STEM Network, she promotes student engagement in STEM subjects through STEAM activities. 

Amy’s love of gadgetry and digital technology can be seen in her teaching and CPD. In 2013, she earned a Special Merit Award from the Rolls Royce Science Prize for her action research into the impact of multimedia on attainment in Psychology. She holds ‘Apple Teacher with Swift Coding’ status and is a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert & Trainer.
