Helen Kitching
Helen Kitching was a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. She was also Vice Chair Teaching of the Division of Academics, Researchers and Teachers in Psychology (DART-P) for the BPS, and Chair of the Standing Committee for Pre-tertiary Education. She was an author plus Head of Psychology and Mental Health Lead at a school in East Sussex. She organised the ATP Conference for the nearly 10 years and also presented CPD on a wide range of topics from research methods to mental health.
The BPS PEPTOTY (Pre-tertiary Psychology Teacher of the Year) Award has since been renamed the Helen Kitching Teacher of the Year Award in memorium. As of 2025, the ATP now has the Helen Kitching Award, which is a sponsored full-residential place at conference, and the second keynote at ATP Conferences are now named the Helen Kitching Memorial Keynote.
