Harriet Ennis has been Head of Psychology for over 20 years at Bootham School in York. Her school is a Quaker Co-ed Independent School where she also teaches Biology. Harriet was awarded Psychology Teacher of the Year by the BPS DARTP in 2025 and given a BPS Fellowship for her service to Psychology Education. She sits on the European Federation of Psychology Teaching Association's (EFPTA) Committee as ATP committee representative for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and helps organise their biannual International Conference. She delivers master classes and talks for students and teachers outside her institution and is a keen collaborator forging positive links for sharing best practice between educators.
With over 20 years of experience in teaching Psychology, Lucia currently serves as the Head of the Psychology Department at a large secondary school in Essex. Her passion for education is evident in her enthusiasm for teaching students about metacognition and her strong advocacy for flipped learning. Lucia enjoys collaborating with fellow educators from various schools, a passion she continues to nurture through her participation in ATP conferences. Her commitment to innovative teaching methods and professional development makes her a valuable member of the ATP community and committee.
Deb started teaching A level Psychology in 2004 and been in educational leadership since 2009. She has examined AQA A-Level (Papers 1, 2 and 3) since 2008 and has also received private commissions from both the British Psychological Society and the Arts Council for advocacy work. In 2025, Deb completed the NPQ-SL with UCL. She led Artmark advocacy for the Arts Council for 7 years and Student Voice for 8 years. She is always keen to travel and has led student expeditions to Vietnam, Namibia, Iceland and Peru. Deb says she has an “academic wanderlust” which is why people that she encounters experience a diverse exploration of ideas, theories and controversies with her.
Karenann has taught A Level Psychology for over 25 years and is the Head of Department for Psychology and Deputy Head Pastoral and Designated Safeguarding Lead at an Independent school in Staffordshire. She has been an examiner for OCR. She also represents the ATP on the West Midlands branch. She is an advocate for teacher mental health and wellbeing, she is trained as a Mental Health First Aider, and takes an interest in all things Pastoral at school including the pupils, parents and staff. She loves making new Psychology resources and has an absolute love of her subject and will spend hours talking about it to her family. Outside of school she spends time watching her sons in various amateur dramatic productions.
Joanne joined the ATP committee in July 2023 and organises sponsorship, advertisement and the exhibition at our annual conference.
Joanne is Head of Psychology, Criminology, PSHE and Pupil Development at Wisbech Grammar School, and is the network lead for the Society of Heads Psychology, Criminology and PSHE groups.
Joanne is a regular at ATP conference and has been attending since 2011.
Joining the ATP committee in 2025, Dani offers a strong academic background in Psychology, along with extensive teaching experience across Psychology, Sociology, and Criminology, including 10 years as a subject lead. Dani's connection to the ATP began when she started teaching, introduced by her own A-Level Psychology teacher who remains a member today, and she has since proudly introduced multiple new members herself. Currently completing a Masters in Educational Technology, Dani is passionate about the intersection of learning and technology actively exploring how these shape the modern educational landscape. Her commitment to fostering insightful discourse and supporting the psychology teaching community is a key driving force behind her involvement with ATP.
Laura has taught Psychology A level in colleges in the Great Manchester area for over 15 years. She edits the ATP Today magazine alongside others and has done so for over 6 years. As well as ATP Today editor, Laura currently holds the position of Secretary on the Committee. She is currently living in Helsinki, Finland and on a break from teaching.
Sarah Moseley is a newly appointed member of the ATP committee and has been teaching psychology at Cheslyn Hay Academy for 12 years. She has been Head of Social Sciences leading health and social care and sociology and has also covered a 12 month maternity cover as Head of Sixth Form. She is passionate about using technology in the classroom to support student engagement and independence equipping them for university study. She also has a passion for supporting and encouraging students to engage in 'super curricular' activities that expand their cultural capital within and beyond their psychology studies. She was recently selected to be a 'Pedagogy Champion' within her academy trust, carrying out practitioner-led research with a focus on how feedforward can maximise progress in psychology extended writing.
Claire is the Subject Lead for Psychology at a quiet, independent school in the North. She has been teaching A‑level Psychology for 10 years and GCSE Psychology for 5. Alongside her teaching role, she is the school’s Careers Lead and a Level 7 qualified careers adviser, supporting students with everything from university choices to apprenticeships and work experience. As an NEU union learning rep, Claire is passionate about professional development and using learning as a tool to strengthen the union and support colleagues. In this role, she identifies learning needs, promotes CPD opportunities, and works with school leadership to improve access to high‑quality training for staff. Claire loves creating clear, effective resources that make teaching and learning easier for both staff and students. A recent addition to the committee, she’s excited to bring her experience to the digital team, helping to shape the group’s social media presence and blog content.
Mairi is Head of Psychology and Computing Science at Clifton Hall School in Edinburgh, having returned to Scotland in 2017. She taught A-level Psychology for eight years while based in Cheshire and now teaches both National 5 and Higher Psychology. She is also qualified to teach ICT and Computing Science and particularly enjoys exploring the links among these three subjects.
Mairi recently stepped down as Vice Chair of ATP after serving four years on the Officers’ Board.
She holds a Master’s in Education and has served as both Head of Faculty and Associate Assistant Headteacher. An active member of ATPS and the Scottish representative for EFPTA, she is currently serving a two-year term as President of EFPTA.
Bea is a new member, not only to the ATP committee, but also to the teaching profession. As an ECT2 at a large non-selective secondary school in Ilkley, she has experience teaching Psychology, Sociology, PSHE and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), but her passion has always been in Psychology. She finds herself very lucky to be teaching solely A level Psychology this year due to the large cohorts that the school brings in and found the ATP conference in June so useful and inspiring for her teaching, that she was motivated to join the ATP committee as a result.
Bea also has a passion for mental health education and provision for all. She is trained as a Mental Health First Aider, and is responsible for the “Wellbeing Champions” in school; a group of Sixth Form Students that are trained as Mental Health First Aiders to facilitate peer-to-peer support of the younger year groups and organise mental health awareness events.
Bea also runs the “Psychology iLeader” programme in school for Sixth form students to promote the subject and get involved with all things Psychology. She is very excited to be a committee member for such a wonderful community of teachers and educators!
Morag Williamson is a retired psychology teacher and long-standing ATP committee member. She was involved in setting up ATP Scotland (ATPS) in 2001, and is also Secretary of the European Federation of Psychology Teachers’ Associations (EFPTA), in which both the ATP (UK) and ATPS are active members. Having taught psychology in schools and colleges in Scotland and England for more years than she cares to remember, Morag is passionate about promoting psychology education as part of the core school curriculum for all young people.
